If you want to make some serious cash money this Black Friday, there are two options: You can babysit for someone else (and charge an arm and leg!) or you can get someone else to babysit and plot out the best steals to save more money than you ever imagined. I know firsthand, and recently talked to Mashable about how lucrative this gig can be.
Three years ago, my friend asked me to babysit their kids on Thanksgiving so they could take advantage of the killer shopping deals. I personally don’t “do” Black Friday, so it was no inconvenience at all. I made an extra $650 by babysitting—and most of the time the kids were asleep! It didn’t interfere with my family Thanksgiving at all, since we consider the holiday “the more the merrier” and spend Thanksgiving evening watching movies at home anyway.
Craigslist is an excellent way to earn a little extra money, but babysitting on Thanksgiving/Black Friday can be truly legendary. Of course, if you’re the one looking for a babysitter, make sure you check references carefully!
